What is the Grange Campground?
The Grange Campground will offer a range of accessible, affordable lodging, in addition to serving as a community hub, with AutoCamp as its planned operator. As the exclusive hospitality partner of Airstream, AutoCamp started its journey in 2013. From the outset, they believed that the outdoors are for everyone and that guests should be able to simultaneously immerse themselves in nature and world-class design.

The Grange Campground project proposal includes the development of a world-class outdoor lodging facility in the heart of Napa.
The project location is easily walkable and bikeable to downtown Napa and will provide a unique way to stay in this iconic destination.
Every detail of the AutoCamp experience combines the best of mid-century design with modern amenities: custom-designed Airstreams, gourmet food, guided experiences, and four-star service, all curated for guests to reconnect with thier surroundings.
The Grange Campground will provide a unique and fun family-friendly and experiential stay for guests in Napa at an affordable price point, compared to other overnight stay offerings in the area, all while being set in nature.
Over the past two years, the proposed project has completed a thorough review by the City of Napa, including the creation of a CEQA document that studies all the impacts of the project. On October 17, 2024, the City of Napa Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of the project to the City Council.
The proposed project is currently scheduled for a December 17, 2024 City Council Hearing for final approval. Please show your support for this special project in preparation for this upcoming hearing by completing a Letter of Support linked in our main menu above and below.

Light on the Land
AutoCamp’s model utilizes a majority of non-permanent structures, meaning that there’s low impact on the land and structures can be moved at any time. Plus, surfaces are permeable, seamlessly fitting into the surrounding nature.

A Bike Path For All
The project will include developing a safe Class I bike and multimodal path along the Silverado Trail, increasing safety from the original Class II trail that is included in the Napa City General plan.

Respecting Native Species
This project will only require the removal of 8 trees, which equates to about 86% more native trees remaining onsite than the previously approved project for this space.

A Space for the Community
Unlike the private home project that was previously approved, AutoCamp will be open to the public, offering a space for local non-profits, such as Connolly Ranch, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4H, and others.

Preserving the local landscape and featuring a design that is light on the land with ultra-low coverage and minimal fill, The Grange project respects the surrounding nature of the site.
